August 8, 2019 / willblack0012
When you’re looking at a sex offender registry online, and you see a pedophile with several arrests And many, many victims, right next to a picture of the 19 year-old with the 15 year-old girlfriend. It becomes very difficult for the public to differentiate and know who’s truly

Branding and Stigmatizing Sexual Offenders in America: Part 1

August 6, 2019 / willblack0012
There is so much money to be made scaring the hell out of Americans about sexuality that no one on the gravy train can afford to slow it down. Any outsider who questions this juggernaut is immediately labeled insensitive, anti-family, immoral, or a pedophile. America’s War on Sex

Plea from the Court Jester

The Court Jester and all American prisoners simply ask what Jesus asked – for others to do to them what they would have done to themselves. To be treated as if they were created in the image of God, just as the unimprisoned are. To be remembered for the humanity they share in common with their captors, as well as all Americans. The best possible response any American prisoner could ever hope for, to whatever challenging and overwhelming situations they are facing, would be for someone – anyone – to take the unlikely, but empathetic position toward them represented in the compassionate statement, “There, but for the grace of God, go I.” If these attitudes are adopted, and these sentiments stir the hearts of Americans to take action, there would be no stopping the constructive change and realistic reformation that could transform the entire American prison system.

About the Court Jester

As a complete novice to the blogosphere, allow me to introduce myself. For my blog identities, I have chosen two pseudonyms: (1) The Court Jester; (2) The Time-barred Bard behind Bars. Introductory Shakespeare quote notwithstanding, I will not be serving as a jester to the royal court of merry olde England and its colorful, yet sometimes treacherous kings, queens, princes, princesses, dukes, duchesses, lords and ladies. Instead, I will function as a contemporary jester to the U.S. court and legal system, and it’s “royalty”-judges, as well as the prosecutors, defense attorneys, and expert witnesses. As court jester, I will closely examine the American criminal justice system, and in particular, the legal system of the Commonwealth of Virginia, my former home state. A major focus of this blog will be to provide analysis of the criminal court cases of defendants and convicted appellants.  Continue Reading
